Helston Postcode on Least at Risk of Burglary List

Helston's TR13 postcode has been named as one of the top twenty areas in the UK least at risk of theft or burglary. The findings are the result of research by Moneysupermarket which is based on three million home insurance quotes between December 2010 and November 2011.

According to their latest look at the home insurance market, there were no theft related claims recorded in the Helston area during that time. On the other end of the scale however Stoke Newington, in North London, was named as the worst-hit postcode. For every 1,000 home insurance claims there, 33.6 of them were for theft or burglary.

London and Leeds feature heavily in the list of burglary hotspots. In contrast, the twenty least at risk places are scattered around the UK although Helston is the only town in Cornwall to be mentioned.

While it doesn't mean there are no burglaries in Helston, it does seem that anyone affected isn't claiming on their home insurance. So, despite the positive results, it's probably still advisable to make sure your doors and windows are locked!
