Trevarno Gardens Announces Closure

Trevarno Gardens near Helston will finally be closing its doors to the public at the end of next week. An announcement has appeared on the Trevarno website stating: "We will be open during the Easter Period.... but with regret we will be closed to the public from the 22nd April. We hope to see you for one last time, a big thanks to all our loyal customers over the years." It the adds that Trevarno Organic Skincare will still be open for business.
The imminent closure has been on the cards for some time. The estate was put up for sale in August 2010 but to date still doesn't have a buyer. A number of closing dates have been given over the past six months but this now appears to be final.
In September last year an online petition was set up to save Trevarno which has now been signed by almost eight hundred people, some as recent as last week. The news will come as a blow to the many who enjoy visiting the gardens. It's also thought up to fifty jobs could be lost as a result.
Helston Railway, which is based at Trevarno, will be staying open though. For more on that click here.

Helston Railway is still OPEN, you will be able to use carpark and there will be signs guiding you to the railway. (I am a volunteer there)

ReportYep Jake's right, the estate has been split with areas to be sold individually. It's been on the market for a while though. Until a buyer is found I would hope the grounds are still cared for, as you say it would be such a shame otherwise.

ReportThey will be sold as little areas, not the whole thing, and the big house is being reduced.

ReportVery sad. Is there any word on what will be done with the grounds? I do hope they won't just be left to decay.
