Three sentenced following 'Chan' death

Three teenagers have been sentenced for their involvement in the car crash that killed Falmouth man Christian “Chan” Vinnicombe in 2009 after admitting to dangerous driving.

The accident happened back in August 2009.
Twenty-three year old Christian Lawrence of Beacon Parc, Helston and Twenty year old Simon Powell of Methleigh Parc, Helston were handed a 50 week prison sentence suspended for 18 months by Judge Christopher Elwen at Truro Crown Court.
They must also complete 120 hours community service and comply with an electronically tagged curfew until April 8th.
Twenty-three year old Daryl Bowden, from Beacon Parc, Helston, also received a 50 week prison sentence suspended for 18 months and 150 hours community service. All three must pay £400 in costs.
The accident that killed Christian Vinnicombe happened on 2nd August 2009 at Carnebone on the Helston-Falmouth road. A Volkswagen Golf, driven by Mr Vinnicombe, a Peugeot 106 and a Honda were involved in the crash.
Two other people were seriously injured in the crash and two rear seat passengers suffered minor injuries.
