MANY winners of Helston in Bloom 2011 have given a donation to the town council in an attempt to make next year's competition bigger and better.

The 2011 competition, which sees local businesses and residents get green-fingered and decorate their premises or homes with flowers, came to a head last night when the winners were announced by local councillors.
Councillor Wendy Radford-Gaby wrote an appeal to other local businesses and townspeople to get involved next year via her blog.
She wrote: "Next year we hope to build up on the number of entrants to this competition and many of the entrants donated money last night towards funding next year's award ceremony.
"So if you would like to enter under any of these categories please put your name forward for Helston in Bloom 2012, which can be done via the Town Clerk's office. This is such a nice thing to do and it would be such a shame to see it die through lack of support – please do enter for next year!"
The winners are:
Hotels & Public Houses – 1st price awarded to The Bell Inn.
Other Commercial Properties – 1st Prize awarded to J C Williams (Furnishers) Ltd and 2nd prize award to Joy Williams.
Overall Business - 1st prize awarded to The Bell Inn, 2nd prize awarded to J C Williams (Furnishers) Ltd and 3rd prize awarded to Joy Williams.
Local Schools and Colleges – 1st prize was awarded to Nansloe School for their school garden.
Private Garden - Joint 1st prize was awarded to Mrs Eddy and Mrs Hosking and third prize was awarded to Mrs Carr.
Tubs & Hanging Baskets – 1st prize was awarded to Mr Williams, 2nd prize to Mrs Carr and 3rd Prize to Mrs Hosking.
