TREVISKER Community Primary School pupils have been busy rowing for charity – without going near a drop of water.
After hearing about the earthquakes in Japan the youngsters at the St Eval-based school asked if they could do a sponsored event to help raise money for ShelterBox.
Head teacher Ros Adams said: “The rowing machines were put into action with Key Stage 2 pupils rowing for a total of an hour each. The children all did fantastically well and thanks to the support of families and friends an amazing £1,550 was presented to Newquay Rotary club for their ShelterBox appeal. We are hoping that the pupils who raised the most sponsorship will be able to visit the depot in Helston to see the boxes being assembled.”
